- Location: Hamble High Street, Hamble
Village, Southampton, Hampshire, UK
- Date: 1st January 2002
- Time: About 11.45pm
- Please phone the police with any information
on 0845 045 45 45 or e-mail at dan@victoriacourt.co.uk

- Were you near the square or the pontoon?
- Did you see other boys in the area?
- Were you walking on the other side of the
river between 11.30 and 12.30 am?
- Did you see a car etc.?
- Did you see a boat at that time?
- Even if you were closing the curtains, or
putting the cat out and saw nothing please let us know, as
seeing nothing is as important as seeing something.
- Daniel is a remarkable boy who is extremely
bright, a competent swimmer and spent his childhood on and
around the river.

- Daniel's last picture taken by himself.
- Despite the police comments that Daniel
fell in the water I (as a former analytical scientist of 25
years) understand that there were no skid marks, disturbance
in the layer of frost or splashes of ice. (It was a very frosty
night). The jetty slopes away from the water, so you would
slip up hill, plus a ridge along the center. Next time you
are at a swimming pool fall in and then observe the splash
patterns on the side. That water falling onto frost would
create splashes of ice on the edge. Then try splashing with
your arms, I've tried it of course and it makes quite a mess.
The next experiment is to enter the water without splashing.
Notice how much pressure on the sides you exert as you lower
in. The frost would have been markedly disturbed.
- The police comments are purely conjecture
and should be taken with a pinch of salt. There is NO evidence
that Daniel fell in the water.
- There is only one fact and that Daniel is
missing.
- Regrettably it is alleged locally that apparently
the bins in the immediate area were allowed to be emptied,
a lack luster door to door and ground search together with
an unsatisfactory exit route search.
- While all searches of the area were locally
organized by the public.

Enjoying a family Christmas
