To the west
The west of Portsmouth is dominated by the port of Southampton, and is famous for the departure point of the Titanic and the great transatlantic liners. But now mainly container ships visit the port the cruise liners are making a comeback and you may see them gliding majestically down Southampton Water to sunny climates. Keeping on the cruising theme the pilgrim fathers departed from here to America. There is also Winchester, Salisbury and The New Forest.

	*Salisbury*( only 60 minutes by car or train) Salisbury Stonehenge If you are interested in these monuments it is best if you understand Ley Lines, otherwise it may appear a pile of old stones. Then these two books are essential, Ley Lines and the Old Straight Track by A Watkins
	*The New Forest* (about 45 minutes by car) The New Forest Calshot Castle Bucklers Hard Beaulieu
	*Romsey* (about 45 minutes by car or train) Broadlands at Romsey
