This airport is convenient, particularly if travelling by rail. The station is located under South Terminal. The trains to Portsmouth are frequent, the majority of straight through via Barnham (do not go to Victoria if travelling to the south coast). You could also go by Guildford where you must change, but this take about identical time. If travelling by rail from Gatwick and intend to return to Gatwick from Portsmouth consider buying a "stayaway" ticket. Travelling from here is difficult. Railair (bus) goes from the terminals to Woking station. There you join London to Portsmouth train.
